Nice site and revive memories of when i was young my uncle had a big old red bike with a dual chain drive and a dark brown leather seat with tassels i thought it was an indian. He lived in Brighton and his name was Peter Burrows he would have sold it in about 1962-64 so i do not know what model it was or if it still is in circulation, but i would love a photo of it if anyone can link this with a model or particular bike. He traveled the world so it might have ended up anywhere, just a thought...the bike would have been already 15-25+ years old and it slept outside and i played on it as a kid. Only because Peter was on an oil rig thousands of miles away at the time... ps i have posted a spinner clock for sale too on this site. can anyone confirm if indians had a dual chain to the rear wheel? or was this a different make? regards Colin ex pat living in france.

Fascinating history; placing it in the hands of British management was the kiss of death - bad timing. My brother just bought a Kawasaki copy - no doubt anathema to you enthusiasts but the guy he bought it from put a few nice touches to it; old plate, modified exhaust, retro paint job - looks convincing to your average punter and he reckons its the most comfortable ride ever - which is handy for bad backs and other injuries. Anyway, great site - thanks for sharing.

Nice read. I just passed this onto a colleague who was doing a little research on that. He just bought me lunch since I found it for him! Thus let me rephrase: Thanx for lunch!,

It's been great to look around your site and checkout the photos....I was hoping to start up an 'Indian' page on my site if any of you guys would like to send me some photos of your rides and maybe some history of how long they have been owned, where they came from etc...

Hi Indian Motocycle Club GB, Are you about to find a good motorcycle route anywhere? Then try www.tourstart.org online planning tool, where you can plan the route and make direct transfer to your GPS device - http://tourstart.org/drive. On Tourstart you can also find inspiration for a motorcycle activity or tour or perhaps you have a great motorcycle tour to share with others? Best regards, Ivanna
